Protesters Follow Sheriff Joe Arpaio to Scottsdale
Joe Arpaio's book tour continues to run into local protests. Angry protesters showed up at the Barnes and Noble on Shea Blvd. on Saturday to "welcome" America's nuttiest sheriff. Arpaio's hard-line immigration stance continues to divide the community while doing little to drive down crime in Maricopa County. Why don't we have term limits for County politicians yet? Joe's a ringing endorsement for them.

I say Joe's gotta go. Joe is doing nothing to improve the serious crime situation in Arizona--murders, rapes, robberies. He just likes the media attention and I am sure he profits from it. And people who say "he's just enforcing the law" don't understand that it doesn't have as much to do with enforcing the law as it has to do with priorities. What I mean by priorities is that Joe is spending huge amounts of money and resources to take out Mexican illegals--which many times are just workers-- and marijuana--which has never killed anyone--instead of murderers and thieves. That is the problem. Of course the laws must be enforced but it makes no sense for the sheriffs dept. to pull someone over because he/she spit on the sidewalk--which I think is against the law--while someone is committing a bank robbery or killing someone on the other side of the street. That is the problem--PRIORITIES. Joe is putting all his resources into petty crimes and saying he's justified because he's "just enforcing the law" instead of using his resources for real crimes. I say enforce the law, but get your priorities straight sheriff.
