Scottsdale Crime Alert

Crime Alert from the city's newsletter:
The Scottsdale Police Department is investigating a series of incidents where a person or persons fraudulently identify themselves as "city water" to gain entry into a residence and take items of value. Residents are being advised to take precautions when confronted with unknown persons at their door.

· The Scottsdale City Water Department will never ask for entry into a private home for any reason.

· A person or persons asking for entry into your home should never show up unannounced and should produce proper identification before being allowed in. If you are not absolutely certain of the person's identity, do not allow them in.

· Utility companies, such as the gas, phone, or cable companies, will normally schedule an appointment in advance, unless there is an emergency.

Again, if you are unsure of the person's legitimacy, do not let them in your home without calling the company they represent to confirm their purpose. Residents are urged to call the police immediately if they have a suspicious person show up at their door asking for entry into their home. If you have information on these crimes, please call the Scottsdale Police Department at (480) 312-5000.

The fans, teammates and media all got a good laugh during the American Idol parody, but Barry MUST be looking at those photos and thinking, "Never again!"

Robinsons-May Leaving Scottsdale

Scottsdale will lose the Robinsons-May store at Fashion Square Mall later this year. The store has been an anchor at the corner of Camelback and Scottsdale roads for nearly two decades. Robinsons-May and Macy's are both owned by Federated Department Stores, and thus create competition against each other. The choice is an easy one for Federated, but long-time Robinsons-May fans are having a tough time saying good-bye to their favorite store.
