Residents and businesses are welcome to contribute to this effort by donating cash, turkeys or other food items such as dressing, potatoes, vegetables, canned fruit, rolls and pies. The center is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. It is located at 7700 E. Roosevelt Street (map). As for the newspaper's contention that not enough voices were heard on both sides of the issue, democracy belongs to those who show up. And this time neighbors showed up in full force and the council acted appropriately by rejecting commuter service at the airport.
