With dry conditions throughout the metropolitan area the risk of fires has dramatically increased. The same hold true for Scottsdale's golf courses as well. Please remember to be extra safe this summer when disposing of cigarettes and cigars at our great local courses.

Want to Lead Scottsdale?

The City Clerk's office will begin distributing information packets to prospective council candidates on July 1. Scottsdale has been reasonably well-served by the current council, however, innovative thinking and fresh perspectives on the future of our city should always be welcome.

Scottsdale Needs Car Auction

The annual Barrett-Jackson auto auction is an institution in Scottsdale. It's long history here should be a sense of pride for city leaders. It is certainly a source of tax revenue for the city, bringing in high-rollers from around the world to stay and spend their large sums of money right here in Scottsdale. It's now time for the city to step up to the plate and work with Craig Jackson on addressing his list of reasonable requests (many which should have been considered long ago) in order to keep this historic event where it belongs, in Scottsdale.

Scottsdale Should Reject Cactus Towing

Cactus Towing is a company mired in controversy due to their unethical business practices. In July, the city Scottsdale will consider contracts for a tow service. Scottsdale should not, under any circumstances, enter into a contract with Cactus Towing. Local residents deserve better than the possibility of being ripped off once the tow truck shows up.

Go Solar, Scottsdale

A free lecture and workshop will focus on going solar for your hot water needs. Of course it only seems natural to millions of Arizonans that we should harness the power of our most abundant natural resource, the sun, to empower our desert-dwelling needs. Yet, unfortunately solar power has lagged in Arizona. Perhaps this small step, along with others being taken to take advantage of solar power, can help guide us in developing wiser energy policies in Scottsdale and throughout Arizona.
