Republic Wrong on Scottsdale Airport

The Arizona Republic editorialized that the vote to reject commuter service at the Scottsdale Airport was too hasty and that not enough diverse voices were heard. They couldn't be more wrong. The council carefully considered the issue, sought and received input from the public and voted the way area residents wanted. That is not a council in "full retreat" as the Republic opines; it is a council responsive to resident concerns while acting efficiently and speaking clearly on an important issue. As for the newspaper's contention that not enough voices were heard on both sides of the issue, democracy belongs to those who show up. And this time neighbors showed up in full force and the council acted appropriately by rejecting commuter service at the airport.
